Frankie Shaw as Bridgette
Bridgette (Frankie Shaw) gets an invite to open tryouts for WNBA in Season 1, episode 6 of “SMILF.” Showtime

Bridgette will try to make her ultimate dream come true in this week’s installment of “SMILF.”

According to the synopsis for Season 1, episode 6 of the Showtime series, Bridgette (Frankie Shaw) tries out for the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) after realizing her true passion for basketball.

In the trailer for the episode, Bridgette is going through her mails with her son Larry (Alexandra Mary Reimer and Anna Chanel Reimer) when she finds a letter from the WNBA inviting her to open tryouts. Bridgette is so thrilled with the invitation that she starts shrieking and jumping in front Larry.

On the day of the tryout, Bridgette brings Larry to Tutu’s (Rose O’Donnell) house hoping that she can watch over him while she’s gone.

“I have my tryout today. … Can you watch Larry? And can I get your car?” Bridgette asks her mom in a sneak peek from the episode.

“No,” Tutu replies before revealing that she’s got big news for her. “I found Edmond (Donald Li) on Yelp. He is a dentist with three stars in North Boston.”

When Bridgette expresses surprise in the fact that Edmond is living not far away from them, Tutu says that he’s going to be closer when she shows up at his office. “I made an appointment and I’ll go see him today,” Tutu reveals.

Although Bridgette thinks that reconnecting with Edmond is a bad idea, Tutu insists that she’ll visit him. “I’m gonna show up at that office and I’m gonna do things because I’m wet downtown,” Tutu says. “Bridge, I can’t get over the feeling to my body and in my soul. Tingly, Bridge, tingly.”

Upset that she may not make it to the tryouts because Tutu has to meet with Edmond, Bridgette blurts out: “You’re delusional. You haven’t seen the guy in over 30 years. You think you just gonna show up at the office and he’ll fall madly in love with you again!”

Tutu hits back. She tells Bridgette that she’s the one who’s delusional. “You haven’t played at a basketball team in a decade and you think you gotta walk in to the basketball audition,” Tutu says. “When you’re done you’re gonna be a big sports superstar? Is that the plan?”

When Bridgette points out that there’s no harm in trying, Tutu gives in and ultimately offers her daughter to take her car. Tutu, however, will still head to Edmond’s office. “Okay, you go try. I’m gonna give you my car, too,” Tutu says. “But I can’t watch him (Larry), so Joe’s (Blake Clark) gonna do it.”

Elsewhere in the episode, an at-the-edge Rafi (Miguel Gomez) visits Father Eddie (Mark Webber) and finds himself at a crossroads.
