Hours after multiple news outlets called the 2020 election for Joe Biden, comedian Dave Chappelle took the “Saturday Night Live” stage to deliver his monologue.

However, the 16-minute monologue was more like a mini stand up show that received mixed reactions from the audience.

During his monologue, Chappelle criticized Trump’s white working-class supporters who have refused to wear masks. “I don’t know why poor white people don’t like wearing masks. What is the problem? Wear masks at the Klan rally, wear it at the Walmart too,” the 47-year-old joked.

Chappelle went on to commend the coronavirus for saving the world from some forms of violence.

“Do you guys remember what life was like before COVID? I do. There was a mass shooting every other week, do you remember that? Thank God for COVID. Something had to lock these murderous whites up and keep them in the house,” he joked.

Chappelle also questioned Trump’s intelligence by discussing some of the controversial statements he has made in the past about finding a cure for the coronavirus.

“How about some bleach? Some bleach directly in our body. Oh boy, the Secret Service is going to have to childproof the White House now. ‘Mr. President, don’t touch that stove, it’s hot. Turn those scissors around, Mr. President, if you’re going to run around the house,” he said.

While Chappelle’s monologue had a punch line for every statement, he also briefly took a moment to recognize the voters who were disappointed by the election results.

“I know how that feels. I promise you, I know how that feels,” he said. “Everyone knows how that feels. But here’s the difference between me and you. You guys hate each other for it. And I don’t hate anybody. I just hate that feeling,” Chappelld explained.

“That’s what I fight through. That’s what I suggest you fight through. You got to find a way to live your life. Got to find a way to forgive each other. Got to find a way to find joy in your existence in spite of that feeling.”

However, Chappelle closed out his monologue with a race-themed punchline that received some laughs from the audience.
