Sofia Richie's Boyfriend Matthew Morton Was 'A Player' But Has 'Calmed Down,' Source Says

Sofia Richie’s rumored new boyfriend Matthew Morton adores the model and has let go of his playboy ways, a report says.

An unnamed source told Us Weekly that the Cha Cha Matcha co-founder is “grounded” despite coming from an affluent clan. The insider also described Morton as a hard-working man who wants to prove himself to his father, Peter Morton, one of the founders of the Hard Rock Café.

“He used to be somewhat of a player and has always surrounded himself with very pretty girls and dated pretty girls. But he’s calmed down a lot and likes Sofia a lot,” the source added.

Richie and Morton sparked romance rumors in October after they were seen entering and leaving celebrity hotspot Nobu in Malibu, California, together. At the time, a source claimed that the model and her new man were “seeing each other” but that their relationship was not a big deal.

Then, it was reported that Richie’s rumored new boyfriend was “really excited” about their budding relationship. Moreover, it was easy for the stunner and Morton since they are in the same circle and have known each other for quite some time.

“Sofia’s family approves of him, which is super nice for her,” a source told Us Weekly.

Apart from reports that things are heating up between Richie and her rumored new boyfriend, they were spotted packing on PDA while having dinner on Monday. Photos acquired by the Daily Mail showed the 22-year-old and her beau kissing and hugging at the patio of Matsuhisa restaurant in Beverly Hills.

Earlier this year, Richie got out of a long-term relationship with Scott Disick, whom she was first linked to in 2017. After three years of dating, the Talentless founder and the model decided to go their separate ways in May.

Disick and Richie reconciled but called it quits in August. She has since moved on with Morton, while the ex of Kourtney Kardashian has been stepping out with different ladies over the past few months.

Richie’s ex was once photographed grabbing dinner with Bella Banos, a model whom he was linked to a couple of years ago. Then, Disick was spotted leaving Kimpton La Peer Hotel in West Hollywood with Megan Blake Irwin. This Halloween, he attended a party with Amelia Gray Hamlin.
