'Splatoon 2'
'Splatoon 2' follows heavily in the tradition of its predecessor, but it has new weapons, customization and a major DLC plan. It arrives this summer. Nintendo

Splatoon 2 on Switch will soon be playable in demo form. In fact, as we posted Tuesday, you can start downloading it now. According to tweets and blog posts from Nintendo, here’s what you can expect from the testfire with regard to maps and weapons.

First and foremost, the Splatoon 2 demo will essentially be an online version of what the press played during January’s Nintendo Switch presentation. It will include two maps, called Barnacles Sports Club and Battera Street, that will be chosen at random at the start of each match. The Sports Club is on the left of the embedded tweet. Players will take part in 4v4 Turf War battles.

With regard to weapons, Nintendo has confirmed the testfire will feature just four weapons including the new Splat Dualies and remixed versions of the Splat Roller and Splat Charger. If we had to guess, the tried and true Splattershot seems likely as the fourth option. After all, a recent list of returning weapons featured the gun as the best entry-level choice.

In case you want the fully translated tweet, here’s what it says:
Like the Nintendo Switch Experience Meeting, you can experience 4v4 Turf War with the four types of weapons, but, in addition to "Battera Street," you can also play the stage with a new "Barnacles Sports Club." For each match, any stage will be chosen at random.

Splatoon 2 global testfire runs from March 24 - 26 at predetermined times. The full game is set to release this summer exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
