Actress Stacey Dash opened up about her dark past and how she struggled with addiction in a recent interview.

Dash, 54, guested on the talk show, "The Dr. Oz Show," which is scheduled to air Friday and the sneak peek of the interview revealed she used to take "18 to 20 pills a day."

The host of the show, Dr. Oz, who is also a cardiothoracic surgeon, noted that 18 to 20 Vicodin pills a day are expensive. Dash agreed and replied, "Yeah, I lost everything."

Vicodin is a painkiller, which is often prescribed to treat moderate to severe pain. The maximum dose given to a patient weighing more than 100 pounds is between 2.5 and 5 milligrams, with a gap of four to six hours.

Dash took to Facebook Thursday to inform fans that she will discuss her "darkest secret" on the talk show. "Tomorrow, I will be sharing my deepest, darkest secret," she wrote. "I thank the Lord for being able to say that I have grown more over the last 5 years than I have in my entire life," the actress added.

She went on to thank people around her who "loved and supported" her throughout the "challenging" phase in her life. Dash also encouraged everyone to share their struggle to help others.

The actress said, "I encourage anyone who has a story they are scared of telling to share it with the world." "You never know who will be able to relate to you and who it can help," she added.

In 2019, the actress was arrested due to an alleged domestic violence incident between her and her new husband, Jeffrey Marty. The couple got married in 2018.

She has been married three times before Marty to businessman James Maby (2005-2006), actor Emmanuel Xuereb (2007-2011) and producer Brian Lovell (1999-2005).

On the work front, Dash will be next seen in a movie, "Carolina's Calling," which is directed by Michael Saquella. The movie also stars Jacob Hopkins, Antonio Sabàto Jr. and Sean Dillingham.

She will also feature in the movie, "7th Secret," which is under post-production and lend her voice to an animated movie, "Dawgtown."
