The Klingons will finally be back in “Star Trek: Discovery” Season 2, episode 3. The preview pictures and video tease the conflict within the empire and how Ash Tyler (Shazad Latif) and L’Rell (Mary Chieffo) will deal with these problems. Meanwhile, Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) will continue to explore the mysterious red bursts and the connection between Spock (Ethan Peck) and the Red Angel.

The preview pictures of the next episode posted on the official Star Trek website show almost everyone wearing black leather outfits. The romance between L’Rell and Ash will continue, as they maneuver through the politics. Philippa Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh) may be on a secret mission in episode 3, as her outfit and location setting suggests that she will be meeting the Klingons.

A preview video of the next episode posted on YouTube shows Ash and L’Rell facing opposition from a faction of Klingons. Peace was achieved in the previous season after a lot of bloodshed, and now that L’Rell is in charge, some of her people view her as a puppet of the Federation.

The threat to L’Rell’s leadership in “Star Trek: Discovery” Season 2 will be resolved the same way the Klingons resolve most of their problems -- through battle.

In a previous interview that has been posted on Facebook, executive producer Alex Kurtzman teased that the plot of the next episode will involve the consequences of L’Rell becoming a leader of a society that has traditionally been patriarchal. The episode will take the viewers back to Kronos, the home world of the Klingons.

Kurtzman also teased that the episode will explore the relationship between L’Rell and Ash, and at the same time look at the relationship between Ash and Michael. At the moment, however, Michael will be focused on her brother and the Red Angel.

The main theme of “Star Trek: Discovery” Season 2 will be about faith and science. He also confirmed that all the events related to the red bursts and people who were transported from earth during World War III will be connected.

Michael has yet to reconcile with her brother, and Spock doesn’t want his family members to see him. However, Michael will do whatever she can to find her foster brother, and at the same time try to figure out what she is missing when she sees the Red Angel.
