Yet another actor has been confirmed to co-star alongside Tom Hiddleston in the Disney+ series “Loki.” This time, it’s a legendary actor whose most recent outing was “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.”

Richard E. Grant played former Galactic Empire officer turned high-ranking First Order general, Allegiant General Enric Pryde, in the new “Star Wars” film. As for his role in “Loki,” it has not yet been confirmed what character he could play, but he was confirmed by Variety to at least make an appearance.

The publisher’s source states that Grant will likely only appear in one episode of the Disney+ series and that his role is being kept quiet at the moment. Representatives for Grant refused to comment on the casting news.

This would be Grant’s debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), although he previously appeared in Fox’s Marvel property film “Logan,” in which he played Dr. Zander Rice.

ComicBook also confirmed the casting rumors and added that the actor will play some kind of costumed character. They reported that initial fan reactions suggested that Grant’s role could see him play Kang the Conquerer -- a character speculated at being the next “Thanos-like” saga villain.

“Loki” is still currently under production, but several cast members have already been announced. Owen Wilson and Sophia Di Martino were both speculated to have joined the cast alongside Hiddleston and recently leaked set photos confirmed this to be the case. Wilson appears to be some kind of agent working for the Time Variance Authority, while Di Martino’s role has been theorized to be either Marvel’s Enchantress or Lady Loki. “The Morning Show” star Gugu Mbatha-Raw has also been cast, but the role is also unconfirmed.

We will likely find out more about Grant’s “Loki” appearance when it’s Disney+ 2021 release date gets closer.
