Reshoots of “Star Wars: Episode 9” are reportedly underway. JJ Abrams and his team are apparently filming scenes related to a Resistance base on a jungle planet, and they are also filming scenes related to the Millennium Falcon.

Prefabricated rocks have been spotted at Black Park, which suggests that the cast and crew are filming scenes related to the jungle planet, Making Star Wars reported. The reshoots are said to be happening after a rough cut of the upcoming film was supposedly shown to a few people at Bad Robot last month.

One of the locations that was previously used to film the Millennium Falcon scenes has also reportedly been fenced off. The production crew is said to be using an identical perimeter as before. The only difference this time around is that the fence is camouflaged to hide it from public view.

A security team is also back at Black Park to prevent any “Star Wars: Episode 9” leaks. Last month the visitors where allowed to explore the locations at the park that are now fenced off.

Reshoots are common for big budget films like “Star Wars.” The reshoots of the upcoming film may not take long because the movie was edited on the set while filming was going on, which should make the post-production phase of development faster to complete.

Maryann Brandon, who is the editor of the film, revealed in a previous interview that the film was edited right there on the set when the filming was taking place, Screen Rant reported. Abrams was initially reluctant about it, but he later agreed because they have a very tight schedule to complete the film.

The scenes of jungle planet are significant because the trailer of the film showed Leia (Carrie Fisher) on this planet. The late actress is being brought back on screen by using unseen, digitally altered footage of the actress from “The Force Awakens.”

“Star Wars: Episode 9” will be released on Dec. 20. The plot will focus on the remnant forces of the Resistance fighting the First Order one last time to save the galaxy.
