Just over a week before holiday spirit hits us in the form of Starbucks’ signature red cups, the company has released a “cool twist” — literally — with its Spiced Sweet Cream Nariño 70 Cold Brew.

Officially available in outlets starting Thursday, Starbucks Rewards members will be the first to get a taste of the cold brew that is spiced with cinnamon, anise, nutmeg and vanilla and finished with sweet cream.

While many have questioned Starbucks’ decision to go in for a cold beverage rather than the traditional hot beverages that are the norm around this time of the year, the warmer areas stand to benefit from the new offering that will join the Starbucks holiday beverage lineup at stores in the U.S. and Canada.

“We know our customers are looking for even more options in cold coffee,” said Yoke Wong from Starbucks beverage development team, in a news release. “Although we’ve offered iced and blended versions of our holiday espresso beverages before, this is our first time creating a cold coffee holiday beverage.”

Joining the bevy of recent successes like the Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew and Nitro Cold Brew over the summer, Starbucks seems confident that the latest venture in the series will also hit a sweet spot with loyalists across the stores.

“The spices complement the cold brew and bring out the cocoa notes in the coffee,” Wong said. “It’s a flavor reminiscent of the holiday season.”
