Aycox's sister-in-law, Susan Raab Ceklosky, shared the tragic news on Nov. 18 in a Facebook post accompanied by some family photos featuring the late actress.

"My beautiful, smart, fierce, incredibly talented and loving sister-in-law, Nicki Aycox Raab, passed away yesterday with my brother, Matt Raab, by her side," Ceklosky wrote. "Nicki and Matt had a wonderful life together in California."

Ceklosky didn't mention Aycox's cause of death in her post. However, it can be recalled that the actress disclosed in March 2021 that she had been diagnosed with leukemia, which is a term used for blood cancer.

Aycox took to Instagram to share a photo of herself at the hospital at the time, revealing that she became very ill in January and February of the previous year and thought it was COVID-19. However, she learned about her diagnosis and got admitted to the hospital.

"I became very ill thinking I had covid in Jan and Feb. well things came to a head. I ended up in a hospital diagnosed with Leukemia," she wrote. "I want everyone to know I'm doing incredibly well and fighting my way thru chemo."

"I will update with a better pic of myself, and talk about staying positive thru the worst of times. 😊❤️take care of yourself all! I'll be back better, stronger and wiser!" she added.

Aycox made her last Instagram post in March, telling her followers that she was "taking high doses of chemo."

"STOP! DO NOT attempt to sing 80s music after taking high doses of chemo☠️will cause memory loss," she captioned the post, in which she attempted to sing. "Literally got not 1 lyric correct."

On the work front, Aycox was last seen in the movie "Dead on Campus," which was released in 2014. The same year, she was also featured in the flick "The Girl on the Train."

The actress began her career on the TV series "Weird Science" in 1996. Besides appearing in "Supernatural," she also starred in projects like "L.A. Heat," "3rd Rock from the Sun" and "Defying Gravity."
