Tatiana Maslany has become the latest superstar to join the Marvel Universe as the actress nabbed the titular role in the upcoming Disney+ series, entitled “She-Hulk.”

The 34-year-old actress will be portraying the character of Jennifer Susan Walters in the series, The Hollywood Reporter reported. In the comics, Walters is a lawyer and cousin of Bruce Banner (The Hulk).

According to Marvel.com, Walters became “She-Hulk” after receiving an emergency blood transfusion from Bruce. The only thing that makes her different from Bruce is that she can retain her intelligence and cleverness while in her She-Hulk form.

Apart from Maslany, people attached to the project are Kat Coiro and Jessica Gao. Coiro will be helming the pilot episode of the series and is known for directing multiple episodes of some of the famous TV series like “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “The Mick,” “Shameless,” “Mozart In The Jungle,” “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia,” and “Modern Family.”

On the other hand, Gao will lead the writers’ room on the project. Gao is famous for writing “Rick and Morty” and “Silicon Valley.”

It will be interesting to see if Hulk makes an appearance on the show. Mark Ruffalo has already shown his desire to be a part of the upcoming project and also welcomed Maslany to the Marvel universe on Twitter.

In April, Ruffalo revealed that there have been talks of having Hulk in the “She-Hulk” series. At the time, he said it would be really interesting if things would work out.

“There’s some talk of having Banner/Hulk show up in [the Disney Plus series] ‘She-Hulk.’ If we come up with something good, that would be really interesting. Right now that’s about it. That’s all there is on the table,” Ruffalo told Variety.

Maslany started her professional career in 2000 on a TV show called “Incredible Story Studio.” However, her moment of glory came in 2013 when she appeared in the hit TV series “Orphan Black.” The series turned out to be a huge success for her as she received several nominations for her work.

In 2016, Maslany won an Emmy for her impeccable acting skills in the series. She has also received a Critics’ Choice Award for the same project.

Meanwhile, Maslany also played the role of Erin Hurley in David Gordon Greens’ “Stronger.” Jake Gyllenhall played the lead role in the movie.
