'Teen Mom' star Amber Portwood has been arrested after prosecutors claim she lied about having a medical condition to get out of weekly drug tests, TMZ reported.

Portman failed to show up to a drug court appointment last week. The 'Teen Mom' star claimed she was on bed rest after having laparoscopic gallbladder surgery. She told the court her doctor ordered her to stay in bed for 2 to 3 weeks.

I think things came to light that she could have been doing more, said Portwood's attorney Evan Broderick to the Herald Bulletin.

Portwood's case manager spoke to her doctor, who claimed that was not the case at all. TMZ reported the doctor said Portwood was well enough to attend her drug court appointments.

Portwood was arrested. She is being held at an Indiana jail. She may remain in jail for weeks, until a judge decides what action to take.

Portwood was previously arrested in December 2011 for drug possession and probation violation by failing to provide a urine sample. She pled guilty to the charges, entered a plea deal and agreed to go to rehab. By doing so she avoided a 5 year jail sentence.

Prior to her 2011 conviction, Portwood was on a 2-year-long probation for domestic battery after 'Teen Mom' filmed her assaulting the father of her child, Gary Shirley, the Huffington Post reported.

Broderick said she was not let go of the Madison County Drug Court program. Broderick said Portwood will remain in jail while the court reviews her case/

Broderick said drug court participants often slip up.

It's not uncommon to give a sanction in jail to get them back on track, Broderick said to the Herald Bulletin.
