Djokovic, after apologizing to the public about the consequences of the Adria Tournament, urged the attendees to get tested and practice social distancing.

Djokovic said that the tournament met all health protocols and it appeared that the health of their region was in good condition to unite people for philanthropic reasons. But he said they were wrong and holding the event amid the fight against COVID-19 was too soon.

Many netizens reacted after Djokovic tweeted his online apology. Furious netizens have expressed their disappointments, saying that what they did — Djokovic and the organizers— was irresponsible.

Meanwhile, some netizens expressed their sympathies to Djokovic.

Djokovic and his wife have been on quarantine and the rest of the Adria Tour has been canceled. The famous tennis player has reportedly donated to Serbian health authorities and in the Lombardy region of Italy to fight against COVID-19.

Djokovic, back in April, reportedly said that he opposed vaccinations. He said that he didn’t want people to force him to take the vaccine so he could travel.

Djokovic and his wife will be isolating for the next 14 days and will repeat the test in 5 days.
