Mugler, who was born on Dec. 21, 1948, in Strasbourg, France, reportedly resigned from designing in 2002 but made an exception to design under "House of Mugler" for the 2019 Met Gala. He went on to create a timeless piece – the wet couture dress Kim Kardashian famously wore to the gala that year.
