“Thor: Love and Thunder” may be the last time that Chris Hemsworth will get to play the God of Thunder. In the movie, he is expected to pass on his mighty hammer Mjolnir, and with it the mantle of the God of Thunder.

Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has already setup Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) to be the next Thor, but there could be other characters who could take on this role. According to a theory by CBR, some of the other characters who may appear in the film are Beta Ray Bill, Thunderstrike, Dargo Ktor and Throg.

Beta Ray Bill is perhaps the most highly anticipated character from the comics. The character’s existence in the MCU has already been teased when an image of him was shown on the planet Sakaar. The weapon he uses is called Stormbreaker, which has also been introduced in the movies.

It will be interesting to see how Beta Ray Bill will be introduced in “Thor: Love and Thunder.” The character’s backstory appears to be that he is a former champion of the arena in Sakaar, a place where Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Kord (Voice by Taika Waititi), and Hemsworth’s character fought.

As far as Jane is concerned, the comic books reveal that there will be a cost for a human gaining the powers of the God of Thunder. Every time she transforms into the superhero it aggravates her breast cancer.

Portman knows about the breast cancer storyline in the comics, and she personally loves the idea, Variety reported. “I think it’s really cool that she’s fighting this thing and there’s two battles going on,” the actress said.

“Thor: Love and Thunder” will be released on Nov. 5, 2021. It will be directed by Waititi, and Hemsworth has confirmed that the production will begin by mid-2020, Screen Rant reported.
