Toddler Dies From Head Injury After His Uncle Accidentally Drops Him

A toddler died from a head injury after his uncle accidentally dropped him while walking. The incident took place in the southern Indian state of Telangana Sunday evening.

The uncle, identified as Raj Kumar, and the baby, 14-month-old Shiva Kumar, were returning home after purchasing household items when the unfortunate incident took place. Raj Kuman, who was holding the baby, was hit by a speeding bike. He lost his balance because of the impact, due to which, his nephew fell down from his arms and suffered a head injury.

The boy was then immediately taken to a nearby private hospital where he was declared dead on arrival by the doctors. Raj also reportedly suffered minor injuries. The toddler’s father was also present there when the incident occurred.

Meanwhile, the man riding the bike, identified as 20-year-old Chinna, was taken into custody by the police following the incident. The police registered a case against him on counts of negligence causing death and causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others under the Indian Penal Code and various sections of Motor Vehicle Act.

In a similar incident, an 18-month old toddler fell to her death from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship at Puerto Rico in July 2019. The girl was playing with her grandfather in a dining hall with large windows and an open pane. He had held her up near the window and had unfortunately lost his balance, due to which, the toddler fell down from the 11th story of the ship onto the concrete floor and died due to the impact. Meanwhile, the family has filed a lawsuit against the cruise line following the incident.
