A call from their dead friend, Asumi, has changed the lives of Shuta, Koki and Ran. Besides activating the special powers in the remaining friends, the phone call has also left Shuta hopeful that Asumi might still be alive.

The showrunners have released the official preview trailer of "Tokyo 24th Ward" Episode 2, hinting that viewers would get to know more about Shuta, Ran, Koki and Asumi's childhood days.

The trailer also reveals the trio will investigate the call and try to find out if the caller is indeed their dead friend or someone else. The post-credit scene of Episode 1 shows Shuta and Koki arguing if Asumi is dead.

Shuta knows Asumi is alive while Koki tells him he should get a grip and move on.

"Shuta Aoi, who always dreamed of becoming a hero, was unable to save his childhood friend, Asumi Suido, and gave up on his dream. One year after Asumi's death, Shuta runs into his childhood friends Ran Akagi and Koki Suido at the memorial service. The trio used to be known as RGB, but they grew apart after the incident. At the memorial, all three of their phones suddenly ring simultaneously. When they look at the screens of their phones, they see that the call is from Asumi, who is supposed to be dead," the official synopsis of Episode 1 reads.

The cast of the anime includes Junya Enoki as Shuta Aoi, Yuma Uchida as Ran Akagi, Kaito Ishikawa as Koki Suido, Yui Makino as Mari Sakuragi, Hitomi Nabatame as Sakiko Tsuzuragawa, Sayaka Oohara as Kanae Suido, Atsushi Imaruoka as Yamamori, Yoji Ueda as Hiroki Shirakaba, Yuichi Nakamura as Wataru Chikushi, Hiroya Egashira as Kaoru Shindo, Manaka Iwami as Asumo Saido, Nanami Tomaru as Kinako, Taitem Kusunoki as Gori Suido, Soma Saito as Kunai, Eri Kitamura as Lucky, Rina Hidaka as Kozue Shirakaba and Yumiri Hanamori as Hana Shishido.

"Tokyo 24th Ward" Episode 2 is scheduled to premiere Wednesday. Fans can watch the anime online on Crunchyroll and Funimation. The episode will live stream in Japanese with English subtitles.
