Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly leaving the royal family for good.

Tabloid New Idea has claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to “leave the royal family for good.” The report came shortly after the couple’s emotional interview with ITV for their documentary “Harry & Meghan: An African Journey.”

A source claimed in the report that the couple had plans to move to a new continent. The insider explained that they would enjoy more freedom if they move to Africa and it would be beneficial for their son, too.

“After a miserable year in London, Harry and Meghan want to make Africa their home,” the unnamed source claimed. “The critics have made their lives ‘absolute hell’ and they’d get more privacy in Africa—they won’t be hounded by photographers around the clock. Harry wants to build a house in a secluded area so that Archie can grow up being surrounded by nature. And he wants to teach him to horse-ride too.”

This isn’t the first time Prince Harry and Markle are rumored to be leaving the royal family. According to royal experts, Prince Harry has always wanted to be a commoner even before he met Markle. Now that he is a family man, he might just pursue this dream. However, royal biographer Angela Levin doubted if Markle would agree to this idea.

“He had often thought about leaving the Royal Family and going off to Africa and looking after animals, that obviously hasn’t happened yet,” Levin said on. Yahoo’s “The Royal Box.” “I don’t think Meghan would quite like that now. Now he’s married, he’s got an established family, they’re very tight together and he wants to do his own thing.”

Life & Style magazine also published a report claiming that Markle was so miserable that she couldn’t face being stuck in the U.K. for much longer. The former “Suits” star reportedly wanted to move to South Africa and even gave Prince Harry an ultimatum saying that she wanted out if they won’t relocate. Markle allegedly made Prince Harry choose between his family and her, as his wife.

However, these reports should be taken with a grain of salt as neither the couple nor the palace has confirmed any of the claims.
