  • “Bachelorette“ Clare Crawley shaded Matt James for giving an interview
  • Twitter users defended James for his Fit-A-Thon interview
  • Twitter wants to skip Clare Crawley’s “The Bachelorette“ season

“Bachelorette” star Clare Crawley seemed to have shaded Matt James, and some Twitter users are not having it.

Clare is set to star in the upcoming Season 16 of “The Bachelorette.” However, the production was put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic, and she appeared to be unhappy about the men in her season who agreed to give interviews.

“If you are doing interviews and creating Cameo accounts before you are even on my season... you are in it for the wrong reasons... #dontwasteyourtime,” she wrote on Twitter.

Many felt that she was referring to Matt, who recently had an interview with Us Weekly for the Fit-A-Thon live stream on April 23. Matt is also part of the Quarantine Crew, along with “Bachelorette” alums Hannah Brown and Tyler Cameron. The group become a massive hit after sharing funny videos on TikTok amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Some Twitter users came to Matt's defense after the subtle shade. Several weren’t happy with Clare’s post and said they wanted to skip her season.

“Thank you! Lets just skip your season all together and make him the bachelor. Now that I would watch,” @yoanacisneross wrote.

“I don’t plan on watching if Matt’s not in it. Matt deserves better. He’s such a great person and does so much to help others,” @Mimi40464777 opined.

“He’s not a nobody. He has a following and was probably more relevant than you before you were announced Bachelorette,“ @Roxylala added.

“If you are talking about Matt James, he cant help he lived w the most popular contestants in BN, and who knows he could be giving in Cameo money to charity. Have some grace. It’s a bad time for everyone. Wait til you meet them to judge, like every other ette has to do,” Hannah Yulp commented.

Clare stood her ground and made another post. However, it only irked the netizens even more.

“Respect the opportunity you’ve been given. Respect the rules. Respect me. @BacheloretteABC,” she wrote.

“Give us someone else PLEASE,” one commented.

“So a man who breaks the rules to help kids in poverty during a pandemic isn't your thing??? Sorry I'm a teacher who is triggered by this selfishness..our kids need a rule breaker right now,” @anock03 added.
