New York police on Monday said they found the dead bodies of week-old twin boys who were wrapped in a brown paper and left in the back of a multi-story building.

Authorities are investigating the deaths and have no information about the parents. Police said they are looking into surveillance videos.

The infants were discovered unconscious by a superintendent of the building in the New York borough of The Bronx. A 911 call was made and the babies were declared dead at a nearby hospital. Early reports claim there was physical trauma to the twins.

The Medical Examiner has yet to determine the causes of death.

“This is very, very early on in our investigation. We’re asking the public for help. If you can, if you know something, can you please call (800) 577-TIPS with any information you have. It would really help the investigation here,” a New York Police Department spokesman said.
