  • Release dates for "Assassin's Creed Valhalla," "Far Cry 6," and "Watch Dogs: Legion" were a few of the event's highlights

After several announcements made during their Ubisoft Forward livestream event over the weekend, the company has announced yet another showcase before the year ends.

Ubisoft Forward was the developer’s first fully digital conference, and release dates and gameplay reveals were made featuring several high-profile games including “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla,” Far Cry 6,” and “Watch Dogs: Legion.”

Towards the end of the show, Video Games Chronicle reports that Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said: “We haven’t shown you everything yet. In fact, we have a lot more to come, so you will have another Ubisoft Forward to reveal even more about our upcoming games.”

That was later confirmed by Ubisoft communications specialist Youssef Maguid as a showcase that would happen before 2020 concludes.

The July 12 Ubisoft Forward streaming event announced a “Watch Dogs: Legion” release date of October 29, 2020, an “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” release date of November 17, 2020, and a “Far Cry 6” release date of February 18, 2021.

These three titles will support Xbox Smart Delivery, which lets players buy a game once and play it across Xbox One and Xbox Series X. Video Games Chronicle reports that Ubisoft has also confirmed free PS5 upgrades for players who buy the PS4 versions of “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” and “Far Cry 6.”

Featuring Vikings raiding late 9th century England, “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” will allow players to lead their fellow Vikings against Anglo-Saxons through both stealth and outright bludgeoning fights.

On the Caribbean island of Yara, “El Presidente” Anton Castillo rules with an iron fist. Economic sanctions against Castillo have caused the people to suffer and it is up to guerilla fighters to topple him from power in “Far Cry 6.”

London is the setting for “Watch Dogs: Legion,” as the hacker group DedSec recruits allies across the city with different skills to liberate it from the activities of private security company Albion. Unlike the previous games in the series which focused on the use of a single protagonist to drive the story's narrative, “Watch Dogs: Legion” features the ability to control multiple characters within the game's setting.

Ubisoft also confirmed on Sunday that the battle royale game “Hyper Scape” is now available on PC via open beta following a successful technical test.
