Two weeks and 2 million players later, “Valheim” is still going strong. With its huge wave of fame and success, players are left with one burning question: what’s next?

Valheim” is still in its Early Access phase. It’s currently in version 0.1, but players are already in awe of the amount of things they can do in the game. The base-building aspect of the game in particular has quickly become a fan favorite. To make the millions of Viking base builders out there even happier, developer Iron Gate has confirmed that more building options will soon be coming to “Valheim.”

In an interview with PC Gamer, Iron Gate co-founder Henrik Törnqvist said that “Valheim’s” first major update, “Hearth and Home,” will focus on base-building. He said that they will be adding more building pieces and “more stuff to do in and around the house.”

Törnqvist also revealed that the update will include more options for food preparations, hinting at the addition of more plantable food items and cooking recipes. This addition will be more than welcome for players who take on the role of dedicated chef in their group.

New recipes will also give players a wider range of options when it comes to the food they eat in-game. New types of food can create more possible meal combinations that can help increase a player’s health and stamina values. This can also mean that new effects can be introduced to the game.

There is no concrete release date for the Hearth and Home update just yet. Törnqvist mentioned that the team was hard at work fixing bugs and other major issues, saying that their primary focus is to make the game enjoyable for everyone first before any new content can be added.

“We’re five people, by the way, so we have quite a lot to do. But yeah, as soon as we feel ready, we will begin working on the updates outlines in the roadmap,” Törnqvist told PC Gamer.

Players can expect a total of four major updates, according to the developer roadmap, including more combat mechanics, a new biome and improvements to the game’s ocean and sailing mechanics.
