After facing multiple losses and seemingly unbearable mental pain, Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) will be back as both a warrior and as a queen in “Vikings” Season 6. A new teaser of the show reveals the character back as the charismatic leader that the fans love to see.

Winnick shared a new sneak peek video of the upcoming season on her Instagram page. The video teases the rise of Lagertha, who will return to Kattegat to help and protect her people.

Kattegat is currently being ruled by Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen), who has declared himself to be a god. The suffering of the people under the tyrant may be the reason why Lagertha, who had lost her mind previously, will once again rise as the queen of her people.

While the war for Kattegat will be an important storyline, Lagertha will have to face more dangers even if she manages to become queen again. Many kings are keen on either ruling this city or destroying it, and the sneak peek video teases an impending attack that Lagertha and the others will have to prepare for.

A previously released trailer of “Vikings” Season 6, teased Ivar gathering allies to continue to wage war against his brothers. The major battle sequences this time around include a massive invasion from the sea and sea battles.

The show will also take the viewers to new, exotic locations. While Ivar travels to distant lands to find new allies, his brother Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) will rally his forces to protect the land and their gods. The character previously gave a passionate speech to win the hearts of Ivar’s soldiers, and that scene showed that he clearly was able to have an impact.

While the war continues, the death of Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) will also continue to haunt all the major characters. The trailer shows Lagertha telling her followers that Ragnar died for all of them.

“Vikings” Season 6 is expected to premiere sometime later this year. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date.
