“Vikings” Season 6 will be the last for the popular TV series. Will the show bring back Ragnar (Travis Fimmel), the character who started the show, one last time to end the series? The trailer of the next season and a recent social media post of cast member Alexander Ludwig hint at his very possibility.

Ragnar has been dead on the show for some time now, but the character’s presence has been palpable even after his death, and it will also be felt in Season 6. The first trailer of the next season posted on Twitter shows Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) speaking about the late king.

“He died for all of us,” Lagertha says in the trailer. All the characters on the show, both Viking and Saxon, have been facing the consequence of Ragnar’s death. The character is remembered from time to time, and has also made a cameo appearance in the TV series in a powerful flashback sequence involving Lagertha.

Will Ragnar return once more in “Vikings” Season 6? Ludwig recently shred a picture on Instagram of him having lunch with Fimmel. Some fans are seeing this as a hint that their beloved character will return to mark the end of the show.

There have been many battles after Ragnar’s death, and the bloodshed will continue in Season 6. The war between the brothers is not over yet. The trailer showed Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen) planning to unleash his forces on his enemies, and the video showed some new scenes of battles.

While Ivar seems to be in a good position militarily, he is on shaky ground when it comes to the loyalty of his followers. A scene from the previous season posted on Twitter shows the passionate speech by Bjorn Lothbrok that was able sway the hearts of his brother’s soldiers.

The heroes will also be visiting new locations in “Vikings” Season 6. Among the newcomers on the show is a mysterious character Erik (Eric Johnson). It remains to be seen how this new character, who is set to appear in multiple episodes, affects the plot.

“Vikings” Season 6 is set to air sometime this year. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date.
