A new trend of making hyper-realistic cakes is taking over the internet, bringing chefs and culinary experts on board to showcase their creativity.

Instagram and YouTube are flooded with videos of cakes inspired by daily life essentials such as soaps, sanitizer bottles, planters, shoes, while some are even made to resemble vegetables. There are a number of food bloggers who have hopped onto this trend in the recent past, such as Natalie Sideserf, Tuba Geckil and Inae Cakes -- all of whom have taken creativity to a whole new level with cakes that are just too good to be desserts.

Recently, the New York-based Inae Cakes came up with a dessert that resembled a steak and looked nothing like a cake. A video posted on Instagram showed the baker cutting the "steak."

The video begins with the "steak" resting on a wooden serving plate. However, when sliced open, the truth is revealed that it is actually a chocolate cake! The making of the cake is reflective of the baker's fantastic observational skills -- it has exactly the same texture and the ribs-sticking-out appearance as that of a real steak and we are mighty impressed.

Take a look below:

This particular video of the "steak cake" was an instant hit among the internet users who gushed over how real it looked. "His is ASTONISHING," one user wrote in the comment section. "I feel like everything in the world is cake now," wrote another person. "Oh damn! I am hungry now," wrote a third person. "Wow that is a work of art," wrote another.

The cake also sparked a meme fest on Twitter, with people sharing puns and hilarious takes on the cake. "I wonder what Gordon Ramsay would say," wrote one person. "If somebody gave me some ribs, and they turned out to be cake, the only appropriate response is violence," wrote another.

The video was definitely a treat for the sore eyes!
