Is Daryl Dixon finally going to get some lovin’ in season four of “The Walking Dead?” If you want to read into the meme that Daryl’s Norman Reedus tweeted this week, then the answer is yes!

For the past few seasons, fans of the hit AMC series have been rooting for some romance between Daryl and Carol. While the two have been there for each other in some sticky (and bloody) situations, nothing has ever happened between them. Maybe season four will fix that!

On June 10, Norman Reedus tweeted the following photo with the text, “Boom”:

The meme is obviously fan-made, yet viewers can still pull for some romantic action between Daryl and Carol. Reedus’ post comes a couple months after “Walking Dead” comic book writer/ executive producer Robert Kirkman told fans “never say never” to Daryl getting a love interest.

“I think that it could happen eventually,” Kirkman said in response to a fan questioning why Daryl is the “most bad*** dude in the zombie apocalypse” that isn't getting laid. “I wouldn’t want to spoil anything, but Daryl is a complex character and he’s really got a lot of emotional hurdles to get over in his life. It is kind of odd that we haven’t seen him in that kind of romantic light, but I think that adds a layer to the character that makes him a little more mysterious and a little cooler. But I wouldn’t rule out some kind of love interest for him in the future.”

If Daryl does want to make a move on Carol, he might have to do it early in season four, especially with the addition of Tyreese to the prison. While the AMC series doesn’t exactly follow the comics, Carol and Tyreese strike up a romantic relationship in the graphic novels; however, their relationship ends when Michonne gets thrown into the mix and makes an advance on Tyreese.

“The Walking Dead,” which will return this fall, is shooting season four now in Atlanta.
