Sunday night's episode of the HBO drama "Euphoria" will mark the Season 1 finale, which likely leaves fans wondering if they can expect a Season 2. Fortunately, the answer is yes, as confirmed in the below tweet from the show's official Twitter account.

At this point, we do not know when production is set to begin. This means filming for Season 2 may not even start until later this year or 2020 as two of its stars, Zendaya and Jacob Elordi, are said to have other upcoming projects outside of the show, as noted by PopBuzz. However, judging from Zendaya's recent tweet it looks as though we can expect her to step back into the role of Rue Bennett next season.

Sydney Sweeney, who portrays Cassie Howard, also expressed her excitement about the news, which may indicate her return for Season 2 as well.

However, according to HBO president Casey Bloys, there won't be that many seasons of the series as he believes there is a "time limit."

"Well, [the characters] are in high school, so there are only so many seasons it can go," the network head told TVLine last month. Bloys said the network will follow show creator Sam Levinson's lead, adding, "There is no set plan. But I don't think you want 30-year-olds playing [high school students]."

Based on Bloys's comment and the fact that Levinson has been at the helm of the show by writing, executive producing and directing a large amount of the first season, it is likely he would return for a sophomore installment. The same goes for Drake, who was also an executive producer for Season 1, as he expressed his clear excitement for the renewal on Instagram.
