Kate Middleton had the perfect response to two adoring fans that wanted to know exactly why she didn’t have her Princess Elsa dress on. The Duchess of Cambridge, who spoke fondly to two little girls, was dressed in pants as she was heading out for a day with the sheep.

Middleton, 37, was visiting Cumbria, U.K., with Prince William on Tuesday and upon meeting the sisters and their family, she was gifted flowers. Middleton wore a Troy London UK Tracker jacket with a “pie crust” shirt paired with “Lauren” earrings by Kiki McDonough, People reported.

The sisters were quite shy upon meeting Middleton, but she was quick to comfort them and get them to open up a bit. Middleton spoke to the girls, complimenting their braids, telling them they were “so pretty.”

She even admitted that her skills in the braids department needed some help as she had tried to attempt the style on her daughter, Princess Charlotte, that very day without success.

The girls’ father told Middleton that they were beyond excited to meet her and have their moment with the royal family. He said to his daughters as they shook hands with Middleton, “It’s a princess. You love princesses!”

The father then said to Middleton, “She wanted to know if you’d be wearing your Princess Elsa dress.” (Elsa is the princess from the popular Disney movie, “Frozen.”)

Middleton apologized for her attire, telling the girls, “I came in my trousers and my coat because I’m going to see some sheep.”

While Middleton wasn’t dressed as Princess Elsa during her encounter with the two sisters, she did wear a similar dress in November 2017 to the Palladium Theatre’s Royal Variety Performance by Jenny Packham in a light blue complete with sequins and crystals, according to the news outlet.
