Melissa McCarthy on SNL

Ahead of this weekend’s hotly anticipated “Saturday Night Live” episode hosted by Melissa McCarthy, the comedian reprised her critically acclaimed role as White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer — both on and off the stage. McCarthy’s “Spicey” was spotted speeding down the streets of New York City Friday afternoon, presumably to stir buzz ahead of Saturday’s show.

Seen skirting traffic and yelling at bystanders, “Spicey” seemed irate as ever. Fans filmed videos of McCarthy’s beloved gum-chewer with a penchant for attacking journalists and naysayers with an inexplicably motorized White House podium. With one heck of a week at the White House following President Donald Trump's dismissal of FBI Director James Comey, McCarthy will surely have more than enough material to deliver on fans’ expectations. Could McCarthy be doling out even more “Spicey” than usual?

In addition to the outrageous stunt to build excitement ahead of Saturday’s episode, McCarthy starred in a Wednesday teaser as well. Singing along with the tune “I Feel Pretty,” McCarthy is pictured undergoing her makeup transformation to take on the parodied persona of the infamous press secretary.

McCarthy hosts “Saturday Night Live” featuring musical guests Haim at 11:30 p.m. March 13 on NBC.
