“Ant-Man and the Wasp” ended without a hint as to what happened in “Avengers: Infinity War” — until the post-credits scenes started. The mid-credits scene will almost definitely play a part in “Avengers 4.”

The end credits sequence shows that Scott (Scott Rudd) and Hope (Evangeline Lilly) are happily working with the former Ant-Man and Wasp, Hank (Michael Douglas) and Janet (Michelle Pfeiffer). They send Scott back into the Quantum Realm to get the “healing particle” to help Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen). They warn Scott to be fast about it. They don’t want to lose him in the quantum realm, and he could get stuck in a time vortex.

Scott grabs the particle and says he is ready to come back. However, no one responds on the coms. They all turned to dust. The Van Dyne-Pym family got caught in Thanos’ (Josh Brolin) snap.

The final post-credits scene was simply one of the big ants playing drums while emergency alerts played on the TV. Obviously, he is blissfully unaware that half the universe just turned to dust.

The mid-credits scene is what’s really important to “Avengers 4” fans. The “healing particle” is meant to help Ghost’s cells stop splitting apart. However, it could be used for something more in the 2019 movie. Some healing is exactly what half the universe needs.

However, first, audiences have to worry about how long Scott will be stuck down there. Janet returned from the Quantum Realm with powers. How long did they take to develop? Will Ant-Man return with enhanced abilities? Plus, there are other risks with staying down there for so long.

Janet warns Scott about getting stuck in a time vortex, which is likely important. Time travel has been rumored to play a huge part in “Avengers 4.” After all, set photos show Ant-Man in scenes that seem to replicate the Battle of New York from the first “Avengers” movie.

Scott isn’t the only one who has a part to play in the still-untitled film. While it’s unclear exactly how it will all come together, fans know that the dusted characters will be seen together as well. Earlier this year, Winter Soldier actor Sebastian Stan discussed a massive scene that includes Bucky, Janet, Hank and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson).

“There was one scene, I think, we had where everybody was there,” Stan told The Independent. “I can’t really talk about that scene, but I knew it took them three months in planning this scene to have everyone there. You looked around and you just saw everyone from Samuel L. Jackson to Michael Douglas to Michelle Pfeiffer. Everybody was there.”

Fans will have to watch “Avengers 4” to see exactly how Scott gets out of the Quantum Realm and saves his loved ones. The movie will hit theaters next year.
