Since the “When Calls the Heart” Season 5 finale in April, fans have been anxious to see what’s next for all of their favorite Hope Valley residents. They finally got their answers when Hallmark Channel’s “When Calls the Heart: The Greatest Christmas Blessing” premiered on Tuesday.

The last time Hearties saw these characters, a lot had changed for them, namely Elizabeth (Erin Krakow). She lost her husband, Mountie Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing), and discovered that she was pregnant with his child. And all of this news arrived only shortly after the two got hitched.

Still, she had the support of her friends, and the community rallied around her to help her get through this. Life-changing moments take time to get accustomed to, though, and when the show’s Christmas special begins, Elizabeth’s still trying to get a handle on the prospect of being a single mother.

A few months have passed since the events of the Season 5 finale and her baby bump’s grown large, but, still, she hasn’t set up the baby’s room. She hasn’t been able to bring herself to do it because she misses Jack and the idea of raising this child on her own is daunting. Of course, she has nothing to worry about, though, because her friends have her back.

There’s a lot going on in the WCTH” 2018 Christmas special — from new orphans arriving to Bill (Jack Wagner) looking into their backstories while trying to perfect his mother’s figgy pudding recipe to Abigail (Lori Loughlin) getting the Christmas Eve dinner ready to Henry (Martin Cummins) helping one of the orphans find her voice again — but the most exciting moment’s the one Hearties have been waiting months for: Elizabeth has her and her late husband Jack’s baby.

As nothing in this drama ever is, Elizabeth’s journey delivering this child isn’t easy. As Abigail, Rosemary (Pascale Hutton) and Elizabeth are returning home from a shopping trip out of town, a storm causes them to crash their car. To make matters more complicated, Elizabeth reveals she’s going into labor.

Her friends help her to a nearby cabin, and, with them by her side, Elizabeth gives birth to a beautiful baby boy. What does she name him? Jack, of course.

Bill, Carson (Paul Greene) and Lee (Kavan Smith), who headed out to look for them, find them in the cabin and they rejoice in the moment they’re all sharing.

At the end of the Christmas special, Elizabeth has a sweet chat with baby Jack, explaining to him that she’ll always love him and that his dad will be looking out for them from up above.

Get ready to see more of Elizabeth, baby Jack and the rest of the Hope Valley residents when “When Calls the Heart” Season 6 premieres in early 2019.
