“The Good Doctor” Season 1 did not air a new episode on Monday because the hit ABC series is already on its midseason break.

On January 8, the 11th episode of the Freddie Highmore-starrer will be released. Other details about the upcoming installment are still being kept under wraps.

But fans of the series have something exciting to talk about. Highmore just received his first Golden Globe nomination for his portrayal of Dr. Shaun Murphy in the medical drama series.

Following the announcement, Highmore released a statement (via the Los Angeles Times) and expressed his excitement over his nomination. “There cannot be more wonderful news to wake up to on a Monday morning than this. Thank you to each and every member of the Hollywood Foreign Press for this amazing honor,” he said.

“I’m proud that an optimistic, hopeful and unabashedly ‘good’ character like Shaun has resonated with so many,” he added.

According to Vanity Fair, “The Good Doctor” became one of ABC’s biggest hits for 2017. Since it premiered in September, the series has already drawn in a total of nine million viewers.

The series also tackles an important and unique subject matter in relation to those who are diagnosed with autism. Since Dr. Murphy is on the spectrum, one of the biggest questions asked in almost every single episode is whether or not someone like him should be working as a surgeon.

Just weeks after it premiered, ABC also announced that “The Good Doctor” has received a full season order. Season 1 is expected to have a total of 22 episodes, but there is no word yet regarding the show’s Season 2 renewal.

But by the looks of it, “The Good Doctor” will definitely receive a green light for at least another season. When it returns with episode 11 next month, Dr. Murphy will continue to prove himself among his peers. The surgeon would also have to step up his game since competition is getting fiercer at the hospital.

“The Good Doctor” Season 1 airs Mondays at 10 p.m. EST on ABC.
