In 2009, Nadya Suleman was known as Octomom, having given birth to octuplets through in-vitro fertilization that added to her existing family of six children.

With 14 children to care for, Suleman has been under scrutiny for a career choice in the adult film industry and alleged welfare fraud. But since that time, Suleman has moved on and is reportedly a counselor, caring for her children that she has documented looking healthy and happy on Instagram.

The octuplets - Noah, Maliyah, Nariyah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Jonah, Josiah, and Makai - are now in fifth grade and appear to be enjoying the new life that Suleman has made for them.

At the end of 2018, the children were described by The New York Times as being "small for their age, but they’re polite, they cook, they’re vegan, they read two books a month and do their homework without being prompted."

Suleman has shown proof that her children are healthy and happy, posting regularly on Instagram about their adventures. Six of the children sing in the choir at their school, and two of the children play instruments, and all of the children enjoy art, Suleman shared on Instagram.

In one post, she wrote, “You are some of the kindest, most compassionate, caring human beings I’ve ever known. Words cannot express how grateful I am to be your mother. You all have blessed my life immensely and I thank God daily for trusting me to care for, shape the lives of, and influence all of you.

One of Suleman’s sons, Aidan, has severe autism, which she openly discusses on Instagram. She talked about her struggles as a mother, saying she is his only care provider.

In a post on Instagram, she wrote: “Aidan is non-verbal, requires feeding, changing (he is not potty trained), bathing, and one to one supervision, as he has no safety awareness and would walk aimlessly into traffic. I, his mother, am, and always have been, his ONLY care provider.

“This “job” is my life (other than caring for 13 other children singlehandedly). My children are my LIFE. Aidan has been off two months for summer and attends a special needs school during the year. I love him with all my heart, and will care for him until I die,” she added.

Suleman has also fought back against the naysayers. She has discussed the harassment her family has endured, saying in one social media post, “Slashing my vans tires (within months of moving in), breaking my back headlights, pouring coffee all over my vehicle, leaving unwanted discriminatory notes on my van and property, and relentlessly filming my children, who do NOT want nor ask to be filmed, is unacceptable.”
