Lindsay Lohan has not been seen on the big screen for several years now, but the former child star admitted that she definitely miss being in the limelight.

Just recently, the actress spoke with E! News while at Cannes’ amfAR Gala and said that she realized a lot of things when she stopped taking part in huge projects. “I think there’s a lot of noise that we deal with, so I kind of peace in life working with children and helping other people that really interest me. I think it’s important for us to recognize that all of this stuff is fun, but you have to take time for you,” she said.

Lohan has not starred in a mainstream movie since playing a dramatized version of the late Elizabeth Taylor in the 2012 Lifetime biopic, “Liz & Dick.” Around the same time, the actress logged hundreds of hours of community service following her controversial car crash in Santa Monica. Lohan was rushed to the hospital following the incident, but the actress managed to avoid any serious injuries.

Santa Monica Police Sgt. Richard Lewis narrated the incident to People and said, “She was driving northbound… and she collided with a large dump truck. There were no injuries to the parties in the dump truck.”

Lohan’s rep also told the same publication that the actress was brought to the hospital as a precaution. “She is fine and was released less than two hours later and is already headed back to the set to resume work. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured in the incident,” the rep said.

Since the incident, Lohan has become more involved in charity work. She previously posted photos of herself giving back to the community by building a large playhouse for kids. She also gardened for a women’s shelter, according to People.

Meanwhile, Lohan previously starred in the mini documentary series, “Lindsay,” produced by Oprah Winfrey on the award-winning host’s network. The series followed the life of the Disney actress after a string of personal and professional struggles. Lohan is also involved in “The Anti-Social Network,” a reality TV show that is still looking for its home.
