"The Amazing Race' Season 29 cast
Would these teams, including some faces from Season 29, make up a dream cast if Season 30 of “The Amazing Race” was an All-Stars season. CBS

It may not be on TV until next year since it doesn’t have a place on the CBS Fall schedule, but that doesn’t mean that there can be some hopes that “The Amazing Race” will once again do an All-Stars competition and bring back some favorite teams from recent seasons.

No one with the show has confirmed if the new season would feature a twist similar to Season 29, which featured all strangers who paired off at the starting line, or if it would be a season which brings back racers who failed to win from the five seasons which have taken place since the last All-Stars outing. However, trends in how the show has mapped out their seasons in the past could suggest that season 30 will be an All-Stars run.

Three seasons in the show’s history have seen outings where teams were brought back to compete for either a second or third showing. Those included Seasons 11 and 24, which were titled “All-Stars,” and Season 18, which was titled “Unfinished Business.” Because there were seven seasons between the first “All-Stars” and “Unfinished Business,” and six seasons between that and the second “All-Stars,” Season 30 seems primed to be the perfect season for a new All-Stars.

If the show went that route, there are already several teams of racers we’d love to see make a return. Here are our picks for a dream All-Stars cast:

From Season 25:

Adam and Bethany (The Soul Surfers):

Coming in third during their season, Adam and Bethany were ideal racers because they were always kind to their fellow racers, didn’t really try to play dirty, and most importantly, showed that adversity can be overcome, as Bethany never let the fact that she was missing an arm keep her from taking on challenges and completing them.

Kym and Allie (The Cyclists):

The New York based cyclists were ideal competitors. Strong when they had to be, but still kind when they needed to be, they were ideal racers who didn’t try to screw over other teams, but made sure everyone knew they were a force to be reckoned with. Seeing them compete again would be a joy for fans, especially since they were also extremely witty.

From Season 26:

Hayley and Blair (Rx For Love):

There needs to be some drama in a season, and Hayley and Blair brought it in spades. Though their inability to get along (literally at all) should have meant they were counted out a long time before, they managed to finish in third. Along the way, they racked up so many arguments that if they did anything else besides fight, it became hard not to wonder if something was wrong with them. Bringing them back for another round of fights would be a great way to ensure the season wasn’t boring.

Harley and Jonathan (Team New Kid):

A season wouldn’t be well-rounded when it comes to the cast if a genuine celebrity or former reality star of some kind wasn’t in the mix. Bringing back New Kids on the Block singer Jonathan and his now fiancé, Harley, a personal trainer and former actor would bring some great balance to the show.

From Season 27:

Justin and Diana (The Green Team):

Every season also needs a team that are the clear villains, and Justin got on every other competitor from his season’s nerves. He was universally disliked by almost everyone, and his cocky attitude when he and Diana continued winning legs didn’t help matters. Bringing him back will insure that at least someone makes sure to utilize U-Turns and any other game legal tricks to stay in front.

Tiffany and Krista (The Cheerleaders):

They weren’t given much credit in the beginning of their season, with almost everyone writing them off as pretty cheerleaders who were ditzy and wouldn’t last long. Several legs later, they were not only still in it, but finishing strong. They may have been knocked out just before the final leg, but by the time they got to that point, no one was doubting their ability to be strong competitors anymore. Bringing them back would be a treat for fans, and would also fill the need for a team that, even if they’re strong, also brings in viewers because of their looks.

Denise and James Earl (Team Alabama):

Who could forget James Earl and his mom? Not only were they completely different, but they were a pleasure to watch, with Denise expressing appropriate shock every time she did something that she never expected. Not only would they bring some laughs to the competition, but they’d also bring plenty of pink again (since they both had a penchant for a very bright shade of the color).

From Season 28:

Burnie and Ashley:

Fans of the gamer couple were stunned when they were eliminated, because they were an example of perfect partners. Not only did they generally perform well with tasks, but they also were great partners, always supporting and encouraging one another and never letting stress get to them.

From Season 29:

Matt and Redmond (The Boys):

They were by far among the strongest competitors in the most recent season of the show, and they were taken down by one of the most common things to take down strong teams. After bad advice that saw them taking the subway in South Korea, then a taxi driver who got lost, they wound up getting eliminated just one leg short of the final. Another chance at the competition only seems fair to the strong team.

Becca and Floyd (Team Fun):

Another Season 29 team that was strong and that got taken down by circumstances outside of their control, when the heat became too intense for an overworked Floyd in Vietnam. Plus, no race is complete without a team that is genuinely about one thing and one thing only—making the experience one that is worth remembering, with tons of laughter and fun. And Team Fun had that in spades.

Liz and Michael (Team Liz and Mike):

Liz and Mike are the ultimate in underdog teams to be brought back. They had their issues, worked through them, and came back from the brink of elimination multiple times in the race, even winning two legs in a row after nearly being eliminated their first leg. If any team deserved another chance to prove themselves it’d be the ones who were eliminated simply because they were given one task too many after being given a Speed Bump, and getting targeted by a Double U-Turn.
