In an error of confusion, rapper Tech N9ne was thought to dead, but he has since assured his fans that he is alive and well. Another rapper with a similar name, Tech-9, did die of unknown circumstances, causing Tech N9ne to pay his respects to the Philadelphia rapper and tell fans that it was not him. To clear up the confusion, here is everything we know about Tech N9ne, the rapper with 20 albums under his belt.

  1. Tech N9ne’s real name is Aaron Dontez Yates.
  2. He is 49-years-old.
  3. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri.
  4. He is a horrorcore rapper.
  5. He created the Strange Music label and spun it off into Psychopathic Records.
  6. He was in the groups Black Mafia, 57th Street Rogue Dog Villains, and Nnutthowze.
  7. He initially signed with Quincy Jones’ label, Quest, in 1996 and went on to sign with Midwestside Records, an indie label.
  8. While at Midwestside Records, Tech N9ne released his debut record “The Calm Before the Storm.”
  9. He followed that album up with “The Worst” in 2000.
  10. Tech N9ne then moved to JCOR, where he released “Anghellic” and introduced Strange Music, where he released “Absolute Power” in 2002 featuring artists such as Krizz Kaliko, Kutt Calhoun, and D12.
  11. Next, he released “Everready (The Religion)” in 2006.
  12. Tech N9ne’s music has appeared in video game soundtracks such as “25 to Live” and “Madden NFL 06” and debuted at No. 50 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
  13. He then released “Misery Loves Kompany,” which features a guest artist on every song.
  14. Tech N9ne then introduced the “Killer” album, which debuted at number 12 featuring artists such as Krizz Kaliko, Kutt Calhoun, Ice Cub,e and Scarface.

  16. Tech N9ne went on to introduce “All 6’s and 7’s” in 2011, featuring Lil Wayne, B.o.B., Kendrick Lamar, Twista, T-Pain, and Snoop Dogg. It debuted at No. 4 on the charts and climbed to No. 1.
