Adam Levine and the rest of Maroon 5 will not be alone on the stage during the halftime show of Super Bowl LIII. TMZ reports that rapper Travis Scott will perform alongside Maroon 5 in February 2019, continuing the NFL’s trend of hiring several acts for one halftime show.

The Houston native, born Jacques Berman Webster II, has been known perhaps as much for his relationship as his popular music. He has dated Kylie Jenner since 2017 and the couple welcomed a daughter together earlier this year.

The 26-year-old released his first album in 2015 and rose to stardom after that. His single “Sicko Mode” off his most recent album “Astroworld” recently hit the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 list. It was his first No. 1 single. At the time of writing, it sits at the No. 3 spot.

Scott’s inclusion continues a recent trend of multiple artists performing at the same Super Bowl halftime show. Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga performed solo in 2018 and 2017, respectively, but prior to that, as many as three artists performed together in three consecutive years.

Coldplay, Beyonce, and Bruno Mars performed together in 2016, while 2015 featured Katy Perry, Missy Elliott, and Lenny Kravitz. There will reportedly be even more guest performers alongside Maroon 5 and Travis Scott.

Jay-Z is reportedly trying to pressure Scott out of performing at the Super Bowl due to his feelings towards the NFL’s treatment of former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, according to Variety.
