Amy Schumer opened up about why she let her doula, singer Domino Kirke, leave after the former gave birth to her baby boy in 2019.

"The truth was, and this is pretty unfair to [Domino], after I had Gene, I was recovering from a c-section," Schumer said on the "Podcrushed" podcast, which is co-hosted by Kirke's husband and actor Penn Badgley, Wednesday. "Domino is like a goddess. She’s an actual floating siren around the house."

The 41-year-old went on to praise Kirke for being "lovely," adding, "when she touches you, like you just kind of melt. She was really a family member."

However, the comedian noted it was because of her own insecurities that she made Kirke leave.

"I just felt so vulnerable. I was like, I can’t have this Botticelli goddess floating around my home when I am, like, bleeding out," she explained. "I just didn’t have the strength to allow myself the luxury of having her around our home. I was like, I think you can’t come anymore."

Schumer welcomed her first child in May 2019 with her husband, Chris Fischer. The couple got married in 2018.

Kirke married Badgley in 2017.

After Schumer gave birth to Gene, she thanked Kirke in an Instagram post for being there for her.

"Ok here’s my post baby annoying post and my takeaway from pregnancy. Women are the sh—," she wrote in the now-deleted post, People reported. "Men are cool and whatever but women are f— warriors and capable of anything. I was lucky enough to get to have a doula."

She went on to mention the details, "Her name @domino_kirke," then added, "What do doulas do? I don’t totally know But what she did was make me and Chris feel totally secure and supported throughout my pregnancy and the birth process. I really recommend getting one if you can."

On the work front, Schumer was recently seen in a TV series, "Life & Beth," which revolves around her character named Beth who is dealing with a midlife crisis. The series has been streaming on Hulu platform since March 18.

She is also a regular on TV series, "Inside Amy Schumer" since 2013.
