Princess Diana, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle didn't throw their wedding bouquets at the reception because they gave them up.

Normally, brides will throw their wedding bouquets at the ladies during the reception. However, the royal family has a different tradition when it comes to handling a bride's bouquet. They usually lay it to rest on the Grave of the Unknown Warrior inside the Westminster Abbey.

According to Latifa Yedroudj, a journalist for Express, the Princess of Wales, Duchess of Cambridge and Duchess of Sussex followed this tradition, that's why they didn't throw their bouquet. The gravestone commemorates the unidentified British soldiers who died on the battlefield during the First World War.

Queen Mother started this when she married King George VI. She laid her bouquet on the tomb in memory of her brother, Fergus, who was killed at the Battle of Loos during the first World War in 1915. Since then the royal brides have followed the said practice and it eventually became a tradition.

In related news, Prince Charles and Prince Harry invited their exes during their big day. Two of the Duke of Sussex's ex-girlfriends Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas were present when he exchanged "I do's" with Markle in May.

Following Bonas' at the event, she revealed the most challenging part of being invited to weddings. For her, it's choosing the right hat as she finds this "tricky."

"Friends are starting to get married, which means the dilemma of British wedding attire. Hats," Bonas wrote. "Why do I find hats so tricky? Tricky to wear, tricky to look at, and extremely tricky for the poor soul sitting in the pew behind. Most of the time I avoid headgear. This can prompt disapproving looks from the older generations."

On the other hand, Prince Charles invited Camilla Parker Bowles. The two dated before they married their ex-spouses, Princess Diana and Andrew Parker Bowles.

Camilla was reportedly present because her ex-husband has a significant role during the event. In addition, the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall had remained friends even after they split.

In related news, according to a royal expert, Camilla has a certain quality that made Prince Charles stick to her. "She doesn't let him get too overburdened by the woes of the world," former press secretary Charles Anson said.
