UPDATE: Aug. 2, 1:25 p.m. EDT -- When “Songland” returns with a new episode on Aug. 14, in its new day and time slot (Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EDT), Macklemore will be the guest artist looking for a great song, not Charlie Puth.

After that, the Aug. 21 episode finds country band Old Dominion on the hunt for their next big hit. Charlie Puth will still guest star on an episode later this season, but an exact air date has not yet been announced.

Original story: Fans of NBC’s new songwriting reality show, “Songland,” are going to have to find another competition series to watch for a little while because the show isn’t on tonight, and it won’t be on for the next few weeks, either.

Don’t worry, though, “Songland” hasn’t been canceled; it’s simply going on an extended vacation.

The show comes back next month, and, when it does, it’ll be back on a new night. Instead of airing on Tuesdays, “Songland” will air on Wednesdays, starting when the show returns with Season 1, episode 7 on Aug. 14.

Singer-songwriter Charlie Puth, who’s known for hits like “Attention” and “See You Again,” will be the next song-seeking artist featured on the show.

The most recent broadcast, episode 6, saw Aloe Blacc and “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw” director David Leitch searching for the right track for the upcoming action film’s soundtrack. They ended up finding the perfect fit with Kyle Williams’ “I’m Just Getting Started,” which Blacc recorded and released as simply “Getting Started.”

Find out what song Puth will choose as his next big hit when “Songland” comes back with episode 7 on Aug. 14 on NBC at 10 p.m. EDT. As for the now-empty Tuesday night time slot, it’ll be filled by the network’s new comedy competition series, “Bring the Funny.”
