Kate Middleton is such a doting mom to her kids, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. But there is a reason why she always looks at them straight during public outings.

Patti Wood, a body language expert, told Good Housekeeping that Middleton always looking at Prince George and Princess Charlotte suggests that they are her priority. Even when she is on an official call, Middleton sees to it that her kids are having a wonderful and comfortable time.

“Instead of paying attention to the cameras and reporters, Kate is communicating to her children that this moment is about their family more than anything. It’s a way of creating a special memory despite the pomp and circumstance,” Wood said.

Middleton and Prince William are always all smiles when they are with their kids. This body language suggests that they are goofy and fun when bonding with their children.

Meanwhile, another body language expert praised Middleton for her ability to take an “emotional temperature” of her kids. “She’s constantly scanning to make sure they’re okay…” Blanca Cobb said.

Wood also said that there’s also an explanation regarding the way Middleton carries her kids. Even though these days she no longer carries Prince George in public, she still carries Princess Charlotte, 2. “What’s notable is that Kate’s hands are usually loosely wrapped around her children’s legs,” she said. And this indicates that she trusts her kids and gives them enough space to grow and explore.

Last month, Jasmine Peters, a parenting expert, explained why Prince William is always guiding Prince George in public, and Middleton is always guiding Princess Charlotte. While speaking with Femail, she said, “Fathers are typically responsible for the disciplinary actions, redirection, protection and provision of the family. It’s not uncommon to see a father with his son to set the foundation of what his role and responsibilities will be in life with a family.”

More specifically, Prince William and Middleton want to create a strong father and son and mother and daughter bond in their family. But with the arrival of their third child, things could change.
