Prince Harry may have a more difficult relationship with the media compared to his older brother Prince William.

On the online forum site Quora, royal fan Deanna Eppers, an ardent follower of the royal family, said that the royal siblings’ thorny relationship with the media started when they were still very young.

And things got worse after the paparazzi chased their mother, Princess Diana, until the time of her death.

“When all of England brought thousands of bouquets and candles and balloons to Kensington Palace to honor the death of Diana, the press called for her sons to show their faces. The Queen was doing what she thought they needed the most: shielding them from the press, let them talk through their grief, stay with their last living parent behind closed doors,” she said.

According to Eppers, no one would like the intrusion that the young boys received that time. And when Prince William and Prince Harry both turned 21 years old, things got even worse for them. The royal siblings were hunted and stalked so they hated the press even more in return.

While Prince William and Kate Middleton were dating, the press hounded them nonstop. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle experienced the same thing when they confirmed their relationship.

“Now, add his baby to it all and you’ll see just why Harry loathes the press for the most part. He, Meghan and Archie are fair game to be hunted down by the paparazzi… He feels threatened, hunted and worried,” she said.

Eppers said that the members of the royal family, particularly the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex, together with their wives, should make time to interact with the press. They should also make themselves available for pictures and interviews so that they no longer have to be stalked.

Otherwise, if the royals will continue to demand privacy from the press, it is more likely for them to be hounded by the media.
