Princess Diana’s close relationship with her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, allowed her to form a special bond with each child for different reasons. However, Harry’s embodiment of Diana’s mischievous traits made him noticeably different than his older brother.

During her time in the royal family, Diana was often praised for her charitable contributions and her compassion for others. While she managed to install those values into her children, the boys also ended up inheriting a variety of qualities from Diana.

According to royal expert Victoria Arbiter, Prince William inherited Princess Diana’s confidence, which allowed him to earn the respect of others at a young age. The commentator recalled the time when Diana tapped William to address a room full of people.

“And she had asked William, as the man of the family, to stand up and make a speech. She just wanted him to thank everyone for coming,” she explained.

“And William, at 10 years old, stood up on a box and thanked all the guests for coming. And it was an incredibly impressive thing for a 10-year-old to do.”

Meanwhile, Arbiter claimed the Duke of Sussex embraced his mother’s darker side. Arbiter insisted Prince Harry inherited “the Princess of Wales’ mischievous, cheeky and naughty side.”

However, Princess Diana’s friend, Elton John, believed the royal passed down some of her best qualities to Prince Harry. “She had this incredible ability, which Prince Harry kind of inherited and I told him that,” he said.

John also praised Diana for her dedication to changing the stereotypes placed on people with AIDS and HIV. “To make people feel at ease and make them feel that everything’s going to be all right. I haven’t experienced many people in my life who have that ability, but she could walk into a room of people and make them feel as if everything was great.”

Despite Diana’s death in 1997, Prince William and Prince Harry continue to embody some of their mother’s best qualities. Since her passing, the men have spoken fondly of Diana, and remain committed to keeping her memory alive.
