Sarah Ferguson previously shared how Prince Philip’s harsh words and criticism affected her negatively.

During her interview with The Sunday Mirror, the Duchess of York also revealed that she suffered from depression due to the Duke of Edinburgh’s cruel attacks. At one point, her former father-in-law called her odd and pointless.

“It was so bad that I believed I was this worthless human being. I thought maybe Prince Philip was right… But I don’t want to develop a thicker skin… I want to know, not why he says I’m odd and pointless, but why it affects me… What is it in me that I need to fix and heal?” she said.

According to the New York Post, Prince Philip disliked Ferguson so much that he had her banned from the royal family’s Christmas lunch. But while Ferguson wasn’t allowed to attend the festivities, her two daughters, Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie, as well as her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, are also welcome to attend.

The publication also noted the fact that Prince Andrew always wanted to defend his ex-wife from Prince Philip. But he was also aware that he was powerless compared to the Duke.

However, things weren’t always sour between Prince Philip and Ferguson. When she first joined the royal family, the mom of two was accepted by the Duke and his wife, Queen Elizabeth II. In fact, Ferguson blended well with the senior royals that’s why Princess Diana became jealous of her.

It was only after she got involved in a shocking scandal that Prince Philip had a change of heart. After Ferguson and Prince Andrew divorced, the former was photographed with business tycoon John Bryan.

In the snap, Bryan appeared to be sucking Ferguson’s toe. The problem with the photo was that Ferguson and Prince Andrew were still legally married at that time. The Yorks only legally divorced in 1996.

Since then, Prince Philip has been angry with Ferguson. But they recently reunited at Princess Eugenie’s wedding.
