“Will & Grace” Season 9 did not air a new episode last week, but fans are in for a treat this Thursday because the NBC comedy series is back with episode 9. From the looks of things, Jack (Sean Hayes) will continue to enjoy his romance with Officer Drew (guest star Ryan Pinkston), but he’ll have to eventually choose if he should move forward with the closeted cop, who is also married to a woman.

A sneak peek at “Will & Grace” Season 9, episode 11, titled “Staten Island Fairy,” shows Will (Eric McCormack) and Jack discussing the latter’s happiness. Jack reveals in their conversation that he is currently euphoric because things are going well between him and Officer Drew, whom he met at the wedding reception in episode 10

“Things are great with my boo Drew,” Jack says. Will, who is surprised to hear Jack’s revelation, questions him, “Are you still seeing that married cop from Staten Island?” Before Jack could even respond though, Will grabs the chance to throw a punchline saying, “Grace and I like to call him — when you’re not around — your ‘Staten Island Fairy.’”

Jack does not take offence at Will’s words. He even calmly says that he is using the phrase henceforth and he’ll be crediting it to his lawyer friend. Jack then reveals, “I really like him. In fact, today is our one-month anniversary.” Though pleased to hear his friend’s relationship milestone, Will is quick to point out that the first month anniversary is “traditionally the time when a gay husband comes out to his wife.” “I believe the gift for that is a suitcase,” he tells Jack.

Unknown to Will, Jack is liking the fact that his new boyfriend has a wife and they are having an affair under her nose. “He better not come out. It would ruin everything. There’s nothing better than being with a closeted married man,” Jack says. When Will asks how Jack manages to keep things secret from Drew’s wife, the struggling actor proudly shares that Drew’s wife thinks he is straight and married to Karen (Megan Mullaly).

Jack confides to Will that he likes his relationship with Drew because it is advantageous for him. “It’s the perfect situation. No strings attached. No ‘Where is this going? What is your middle name? What is your last name?’” Jack’s soliloquy prompts Will to ask his friend if he is just looking at the positive side of his current romance because he is still afraid of commitment. But jack rebuts that this is not the case.

Based on the synopsis for episode 9 though, Jack eventually realizes the problem with his secret relationship with the closeted police officer. It even comes to a point wherein Jack is going to force Drew to come out to his wife. Whether he does or doesn’t is yet to be seen. Meanwhile, the synopsis also reveals that Will and Grace (Debra Messing) find themselves selling their new line of bedding on live TV. However, the new venture will likely cause friction between the roommates.

“Will & Grace” Season 9, episode 11 airs Thursday, Feb. 1, at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
