A woman from Elizabethton in Tennessee has been arrested and is facing multiple charges after she allegedly struck her father with an ax and punched her grandpa in the face.

Nevada Salina Jade Fortson, 25, was arrested after she hitched a ride to her grandpa’s house Tuesday and wielded an ax while threatening her relatives, authorities were cited as saying by Fox News. Nevada allegedly hit her dad, Doug Fortson, with the ax before he and the woman’s grandfather, Glenn Hayes, managed to disarm and subdue her.

The Carter County Sheriff’s Office said Nevada broke into the residence through a guestroom window at around 2.20 a.m. The woman’s father saw her in the hallway and was hacked three times before he was able to wrestle the ax out of the woman's grip. Nevada's grandpa helped subdue her but ended up getting a black eye in the assault.

The complaint from the sheriff’s office revealed that Glenn suffered a swollen and bruised eye, while Doug had “multiple lacerations on his right arm.” Deputies who responded to the scene on a burglary call also found a vehicle backing out of the driveway with two men, Christopher Price and Daniel Fleenor, inside.

Fleenor and Price spoke with the authorities, stating that Nevada asked them for a ride to the residence, WJHL reported. Documents about the incident did not show any charges filed against Price and Fleenor in relation to the Hayes’ residence’s attack.

In documents filed at the Carter County General Sessions Court dated Dec. 13, it was revealed Nevada had previous arrest records for resisting arrest, criminal trespassing, and violation of an order of protection. An order of protection was also filed by the woman’s mother, identified by Fox as Robin Hayes.

Fleenor and Price also had a previous criminal record, according to the Fox News report.

Nevada is now faced with several charges including aggravated burglary and aggravated assault. She is being held at the Carter County Jail with a $130,000 bond.
