The 2022 World Cup in Qatar has reached the quarterfinal stage with seven powerhouses and underdog Morocco competing for the title.

The quarterfinals start Friday with a match between Croatia and Brazil at Education City Stadium at 10 a.m. ET. The Netherlands and Argentina conclude Friday's action at 2 p.m. ET at Lusail Iconic Stadium.

Saturday's matches are scheduled for 10 a.m. ET and 2 p.m. ET. Morocco and Portugal will face off, followed by England taking on defending champion France.

Because the four teams that play on Friday are on the same side of the World Cup bracket, the day's winners will square off in the semifinals. The same goes for Saturday's quarterfinal winners.

Brazil, France and England entered the tournament as favorites. The only big surprise from the Round of 16 was Morocco's upset of Spain on penalties.

This World Cup could see some countries that have come up short in past World Cups exceed expectations. The Netherlands has a 0-3 all-time record in the World Cup final. Croatia fell to France 4-2 in the 2018 World Cup final in its best all-time finish. Portugal has never reached a World Cup final.

The World Cup semifinals are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 14.
