“The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 3rd” finally has a release date. “Trails of Cold Steel” has also been revealed to be heading to Windows PC. Other details about XSEED Games’ RPG titles have been revealed as well.

On Friday, Marvelous Inc. subsidiary XSEED Games announced some good news to the fans of its famous “The Legend of Heroes” games via Twitter. First, it revealed the official release date for “Trails in the Sky the 3rd” and some other things about the game. The third chapter in the “Trails in the Sky” series is scheduled for release on Windows PC next month, specifically on May 3.

XSEED also revealed that the new “Trails in the Sky” installment is going to be up for grabs for $29.99 and that players will enjoy a 10 percent discount during its first week on the market. Fans can expect the new game to be available for purchase from Steam, GOG and The Humble Store soon.

The third “Trails in the Sky” chapter takes place a year following the events in the previous installment. As the final installment in the series, this new game will once again feature the franchise’s favorite playable cast and NPCs. Ancient artifacts will also be the root cause of tumultuous events in the game. XSEED said that fans will get to see familiar tactics and brutal combats in this installment, which comes with dozens of new tracks from Nihon Falcom.

The official description of the upcoming game reads: “Half a year after ‘trails in the Sky SC,’ Father Kevin Graham takes on a routine mission on behalf of the Septian Church. He and his partner are then plunged into a realm that follows an unnaturally strict set of rules and is as intent to open old wounds as it is to keep them behind closed doors.”

The American video game publisher also outed some details about “The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel.” Fans of the game that launched only for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita will surely be glad to know that XSEED is bringing this game to the PC platform this summer. Unlike the previous version, this new one will feature over 5,000 lines of additional voiceover dialogue. The company only stated that the PC port will be available this summer .
