Playtonic Games and Team17 are rolling out a new patch for “Yooka-Laylee” ahead of the game’s official release on April 11. The patch is already available on Xbox One, and it is expected to hit the PS4 and PC versions next.

The release notes for the Xbox One patch have been released and the list contains information on the changes the developers made to the camera and other aspects of the game, as well as the performance improvements it is implementing prior the game’s official launch. According to Eurogamer, the update takes aim at the game’s camera. Players can now expect that the camera will not be locked in place once they have completed the Gravity Room challenge in Galleon.

Another fix the patch brings to the “Banjoo-Kazooie”-inspired platform video game is for the erratic behavior in Moodymaze Marsh when players grapple the seeds in Planker’s challenge. The inability to move upon respawning after getting killed by a bizzy in hub b and being knocked back into the archive door simultaneously has been addressed as well.

As for the performance improvements, players will notice the changes to the camera transitions in the “Yooka-Laylee” introductory cut scene, the modifications made to Shipwreck Creek and Hivory Towers, and the alterations to better the effects when players use the light beam in the Icymetric Palace within Glitterglaze Glacier. Lastly, Playtonic made sure that the Bee-Bop arcade game will now feel better than how it was before.

The details on the new patch arrived following the complaints some reviewers raised recently. For example, PC Gamer’s Tom Marks pointed out that after trying out “Yooka-Laylee,” he is convinced that it is far from being a perfect video game because it is plagued with several issues that were reminiscent of the Nintendo 64-era. IGN’s Marty Sliva also noted in his review that the game has camera issues and some bland activities.
