He is the prime suspect now that Victor’s death is being treated as a homicide, and that has come with consequences. However, Adam may prove to be one step ahead of everyone else when it comes to making sure he doesn’t get caught on the Friday, Sept. 20 episode of “The Young and the Restless.”

Now that Victor’s (Eric Braden) death is being treated as a homicide investigation following a toxicology report which showed elevated levels of his medication in his blood, Adam (Mak Grossman) is officially the prime suspect on the CBS soap. He was already considered suspicious by Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) as well, and they have been vocal about it—which is creating other problems for him.

“Chelsea puts boundaries in place for Adam,” spoilers reveal.

Adam had been getting a chance to rebuild a relationship with his son, Connor, thanks to Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan), but her relationship with Nick could now lead to complications. Nick doesn’t feel Adam should have access to Connor until they know for sure that he had nothing to do with Victor’s demise, so that will lead to him having fewer chances to see his son.

Of course, Adam won’t be allowing anyone to derail him for long, and he also won’t want anyone to figure out the truth about his changing his father’s meds either since that will fully stop any progress he has made with achieving his goals. As a result, he will need to move fast and make sure he can frame someone else for the crime and cover his tracks. Unfortunately for his family, that could mean one of them will become his target.

Since Adam has his eyes on taking over Newman Enterprises and dismantling it for good, his likely target could wind up being his sister—Victoria (Amelia Heinle).

“The Young and the Restless” airs weekdays at 12:30 p.m. EDT on CBS.
